Speaker: Nonsikelelo Ncube (The pandemic’s effect is gendered)

Ms. Nonsikelelo Ncube holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Law from the University of South Africa and is currently pursuing her Postgraduate studies. She possesses professional certificates in Leadership and Gender.

She works in the Office of the Executive at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation and her passion lies in Gender and Human Rights work.

Nonsikelelo is also an entrepreneur whose vision is to see all women economically emancipated through participating in and influencing economies. She is part of Pillar 5 (Economic Power) of the National Strategic Plan on GBVF. This pillar seeks to “address the economic vulnerabilities that women face making them more vulnerable to GBV both by partners and the system and to address deeper structural drivers that gives rise to women’s social and economic position and required targeted accelerated efforts to transform.”

Nonsikelelo is also a columnist who has written several articles on Gender Based Violence, its prevalence in South Africa and Youth issues.
