In this time of Covid-19 in South Africa and with various increasing crises –  poverty and unemployment, food insecurity and the lack of basic services, among others – neoliberal capitalism has demonstrated its incapacity to respond to the needs of the people. In this context, the faith-based sector has been silent, arguably a reflection of its own ‘crisis of faith’.

Join the discussion at the Jozi Book Fair to explore the crisis in society and the crisis of faith. This discussion will take place in the context of two books: I believe in Justice and Hope by the Bishop Casaldaliga and Albert Nolan’s Jesus Before Christianity

Speakers:

Father Sergio Lorenzini – Priest from Chile

Alex Bhiman – Church Social Activist

Father Joy Sebastian – Priest from Kerale

Moderator: Father Mokesh Morar – Priest from Diocese of Bethlehem
