Isabel Hofmeyr


Professor Isabel Hofmeyr works at the University of the Witswatersrand, in African Literature department. Professor Hofmeyr helped establish and became the Acting Director of the Centre for Indian Studies in Africa. She has a wide knowledge and interest within the African Literary epistemology, ranging from Southern African literary studies, oral history and literature, and textual transnationalism. Her latest work focuses on Africa’s intellectual place in the world, inclusive of the material and aesthetic history of texts and transnational circulation.
